Shawn Olsen, Vice President

My name is Shawn C. Olsen. I am a liberated addict who has overcome the struggle of drugs and alcohol. I love to share with others the ability to break the cycle of addiction and incarceration while sharing the word of Jesus Christ to those who still struggle. God has blessed me with a brand new life and used my past hurts habits and hang-ups. What was once my weakness has been turned into my greatest strength through my walk in recovery. <><

Teresa Slaughter, Board Treasurer

Teresa Slaughter’s mentoring experience began years ago in Oregon and Alaska. The inspiration for KAMP originated with Teresa and her husband mentoring one young woman for a period of four years that lead to that woman making lasting life changes. This experience motivated Teresa to build a community Christian mentoring network which is what KAMP is today. Teresa is currently the Treasurer for the KAMP Board of Directors and a mentor.

Donna Ruch, Board Secretary

Donna Ruch began mentoring in 1985 when she and her husband were building caretakers and janitors of Community Baptist Church in Kodiak. Donna and her husband provided temporary shelter for homeless individuals in the downstairs area of the church. Donna was one of the founding members of the Kodiak Brother Francis Shelter and was a lead counselor in the Non-Medical Detox Unit for Kodiak Council on Alcoholism Safe Harbor during the 1990s. Donna serves on the KAMP Board of Directors as the Secretary and a mentor.

Jami Gibson

My name is Jami Gibson. I am 43 and a mother of 3 children. I am a recovered drug addict and have been sober now for over 4 years. I did almost 2 years in prison because of my addiction to methamphetamine and opioids. I am redeemed through my relationship with Jesus Christ and I am currently a mentor and board member of the Kodiak Area Mentor Program. I am all about my service to God and to my community, reaching out to one person at a time.

Sam Eads
